Title: LHD FIAT 500 wanted for my wifes 40th. Either requiring resto or in good nick
Post by: nathanredfearn on June 13, 2008, 04:42:28 AM
I will consider anything, but must be lhd.
MUST BE IN THE UK.
I do not mind if it needs rust repairs or repaint, or retrim i am also interested in a car in good condition.
I would prefer a painted dashboard model if possible.
Must be complete.
I do not mind if it has a 126 engine and box or original.
It does not have to be UK registered or on the road.
I would like a car that has not been messed with, no pimp my ride sytle customs TA!
Cash waiting, must buy in the 2-3 weeks. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be wonderful!

kind regards

Nathan

Hi Nathan. You shouldnt have too much trouble finding one, especially if you dont mind a rusty one. I will keep a look out.  Excuse my ignorance but what on earth does "Pimp my ride/custom TA" mean? Call me oldfashion but not being a rap fan or member of a Newyork gang these thinks have to be explained to us old folk!

No, just an old rocker! I notice that you offer no explanation yourself John, and you have children! I see your Cursor has taken off, hope it does well, I knew you wouldnt keep it, Both Bambys and Cursors are not worth the space.

Both Bambys and Cursors are not worth the space.

All the more reason to make space for them in my opinion....  ;D

Don't ask me how I know, but Pimp My Ride was a simply ghastly TV programme where some right prong of a bloke would go around tarting up seriusly pathetic peoples seriusly pathetic cars, usuly by means of painting it pink, putting 87-inch wheels on it & shoving four million quids worth of sterio in the boot.

Custom TA means customised cars, & TA = standard abbrivation of "thanks"

This has been a public infomation snippet from the (suposedly) younger RUM genaration.  :-*

Thanks for that Stuart.  I never saw the program but it sounds painfull , much the same as that American chopper prog, yuckkkk! You are welcome to all the Bambys and Cursors, stack em six deep in the back garden. Will I get my ride in your Comtesse this year?

Hi Bob & Stuart

I liked the Pimp my ride programe the one time I saw it. Partialy because the bloke doing the programe was a bit toungue in cheek and looked like a stand ups impression of a 70's porn star.

The cars they started with were crap, and afterwards at least the looked good, even if they wern't my taste.

I would have kept the Cursor, but as usual I need the dosh to survive and keep my other purchases and hobby going, plus I havn't got a garage or any spare parking.

Smae sort of performance as a Super Comtesse (well mayby a bit faster) but it's so sleek you will look like you are going faster ;D

John

Hi John. I wouldnt know what a 70's porn star looks like especially a male one but will take your word for it. Seriously though , about cursors, Bob Cottons sons drove these cars whilst sixteen , well actually one had a Bamby and the other a Cursor and Bob said that the Cursor was by far the better engineered car although both had a completley unsuitable engine/ transmission. Will we see you at the Bath Rally in three weeks?
