Whilst at work today, sat on my plank, waving a heat gun back & forth whilst stripping the plastic off the Transit we took to the national, my mind wanderd like it does, and my gaze fell upon an old redundent "Henry" vacum cleaner, you know the type, the red one with the little face.
We are forever getting varius people wandering in wanting the office or whatever department, and I've often thought we could do with a commisionare on the door. Anyway, as I said, Henry was sitting there redundent, and so I decided to make up a commisionare's coat and peaked cap for him, sat him on a table next to the door, and stuck a little label alongside him reading "Welcome to Mediafleet". It looks remarkably efective, an old vacum cleaner dressed up like a Harrods doorman welcoming our visitors. You should have seen the boss's face!
Then I thought, "this would be a good addition to the doorway of Jean's Bubble Building!" What does everyone reckon? Could Jean offer Henry a permanant position if he ever gets fed up with Mediafleet? Hes very quiet, very relible, just show him his spot and he'll stand there all day quite happy......
(By the way, this is one of the more sensible ideas I've ever came up with!)

It's offial! Henry has finally been given his cards after years of devoted service. :'( following the arrival today of a Green Henry. Can anyone out there offer him a new position or must he end his days on the scrapheap? :'(

why dont you save him Stuart?i myself have started to get interested in the old Hoover Juniors of the 60's and 70's, they are still one of the best cleaners ever made,and are quite interesting to research,and another example of long lasting british engineering.
