Title: 1884 "Plectocycle"

I know it's not really a rumcar. Doesn't have an engine for a start :)

But I wanted to share with you what I'm doing these days, as have been out of the loop re three-wheelers.

Have spent the past year and a half establishing Online Bicycle Museum (http://oldbike.eu).

Learned about bikes in the process.

Have to sell some of them now (yoo hoo, Artura, where are you?)


Thought this may interest you, as high wheel tricycles like this established the three-wheeler as a means of transport for the first time (Queen Victoria bought a Salvo in 1881)

It's the ancestor of the automobile as well as microcars.

And lever-drive steering arrangement continued in 20th century invalid carriages.

Were you displaying some cycles at Kempton Park bike jumble a couple of weeks back?

Hi Bob, Yes I did take my old bicycle display on the road, to Kempton Park on the saturday, and the Pioneer Run at Madeira Drive on the sunday. I also had the 1914 Warrick 3-Wheel Motor Carrier there on a trailer (have now put the original commercial body back on it).

And, in answer to Marcus, I use a very old version of photoshop...

Nice display there! When I used to work in Rotherhithe a film was being made there and they has a lovely old bike, perhaps a Humber, rod brakes etc. Just realised, is today really April the 111th?!

I saw the display and it momentarily crossed my mind that they may be yours, you have some interesting stuff. I was there looking for Motobi Catria parts, I turned up nought!
