Title: Problems with a Virgo Microcar
Post by: Jean on November 07, 2006, 07:33:08 PM
I have just received the following plea for help, I can't answer it, can anyone else help Eileen - pleasse?

We have just returned home having purchased a Virgo microcar from ebay, and your site was recommended by them. We bought our microcar to use in conjunction with our motorhome. Having seen pictures of a microcar being towed on an A frame we thought this would be easy to arrange. However we now find that there is only one firm microcar recommend for an A frame and they are not in our area. They will not supply a kit to any of our local microcar dealers but insist on fitting it themselves. Do you know of anyone who has had similar problems

Hi.

You might be better off towing the Virgo on a small trailer, especially if you're considering using it as a tender during Continental travels.  The French authorities are not keen on A-framing and have been known to make "offenders" separate the towed vehicle from the motorhome and buy a second ticket on the autoroute for the towed car.

Some of these little automatics also have a limit to the speed at which they can be towed due to the set-up of the CVT transmission.

Hope this helps.
