Title: Stuart's mystery car....
Post by: Stuart Cyphus on March 15, 2010, 05:46:36 PM

What's your "mystery car X"?  surely you're not going to acquire a mainstream micro to go on the runs with and with no disabled leanings!!?!

;)  I was wondering how long it would be before somebody spotted the Eternal Mystery...  All will be revealed in due course, but enough to say there was something else lurking deep within that Welsh yard behind the row of Model 70's. Something quite remarkable & a suprise to us all when Alan, Ian & I spotted it that cold December day. Now I've done the deal, I shall have a little fun as you all try to guess what it was we found where no previus visiters bothered to look, for they saw only Model 70's and not what lay beyond.....

After the Ramones

X was not in the scapyard
X was not behind the fridge door!
X was not in the workshop
X is flogged off.

I saw it first as my bubble dowsing told me there was a micro present. It is rarely wrong. Nice big'uns too. Tea under a Bristol is almost as good as beer under a Vulcan.

Will be collecting my own mystory car this weekend.

Well Mr Bear indicated in another thread that Stuarts collection of sub 50cc cars was on the increase so I'm going to guess its sub 50cc, maybe a little piaggio truck?

maybe a little piaggio truck?

Nope!   :)   The Piaggio truck "doesn't exist. It isn't there"....   ;)    (A little in-joke between Alan, Ian & me regarding an unconnected-to-the-topic vehicle also in the yard)

It's the Electric Trident.

Aah the Ape that is not there! We were not supposed to mention that, it is not there. It was not behind the Refridgerator door more than it wasn't in the scrapyard or the workshop. It is so not there that no pictures of it exist. So impressed were we with the lack of any sort of condition, since not existing it could not have any, that none of us did not offer not to buy it successfully. However one offer of not owning it was more successful that the other offers. So, guys, who does not own an Ape that does not exist? It could be any of us as we cannot tell you as the vehicle does not exist but it could be Stuart who would have to deny it as part of the buying proccess. If so you will be seeing him at Micro/Piaggio events without a vehicle which will clinch the fact that he might be the owner. I hope this clears that topic up.

It's the Electric Trident.

Ahrg! The Tiger Mafia have linked with the Peel Mafia, its got four wheels! This little chap can creep up on you unheard being electric. No one is safe from organised Microing naughtiness. The only answer is to buy an Invalid Carriage perhaps.......well you have to try.

Just to throw a little swerve, and neither confirming nor denying what has so=far been posted. I will say that a prominant member of the Mafia has seen photos of my Mystery Car and has pronouced it genuine!  :o   I'm sure he'll be only too willing to confirm this in writing here in due course when he spots this topic.....    I'm very much awere I've done what a lot of folk can but only dream of in this day & age.....  ;D

Lets quell unconfirmed speculation.

Here is the machine.   I'll think you'll agree it is a genuine unmollested example.

As suspected.  Another IC!   Can't keep the boy away!

Footnote.

The irony would be Captain Cyphus if, as you ebb into old age you become physically disabled!  We all know you're not quite right in the cranium but it would be a fitting destiny!! ..

Stuart, that engine is not the right one for your Bambi ! You will need tougher suspension for that lump!

The pictures of the fully cleaned up Tippen Delta are available to interested folks from me. It tests out OK electrically, has all its bits assembled on the car, minimal replacement purchases required - headlight rim, standard Wipac, Girling hydraulic overhaul and there is something missing on the rear valance but not sure quite what as the boot clips have nothing to hook on. I have a set of new tyres, an obsolete size now, available for £50 if the car is to do more than static display. Seems it is a Mk6 and one of only 5 Tippen Deltas left if understand correctly. So actually quite rare and in a very easy to restore condition. Sat in my drive at the moment though it is Stuart's car. It will re-regester on its number we think as it has a record and a chassis number. It can go anywhere a G-Whizz can plus you might get away parking in disabled slots.
Next up BX and then onto the next 'Schmitt for a wedding.

Bambi - yep I was waiting for the price to be to much for Fizzer as I would have paid more. However it was his lead so first dibs go to the finder. If it had been a free for all I would own it I think.

Loverly Stuart! Well sniffed out and you barged Mr Bear aside in the scramble! All you will need now is a Suzuki CP80 engine with cvt transmission and a completely modified braking system and you will be away! Although as you have told me many times before your just as happy to looking at it. Looks quite nice in white.

This opportunity to acquire a very fine Tippen Delta has now passed as money has changed hands on a deal so it passes on to be restored and used as an electric powered car.

Charlie Watts, the gentleman drummer of the Rolling Stones has a collection of classic saloon cars like Lagondas and Bentleys. He does not drive, but makes his own suits and dresses to suit the car, then just sits in them relaxing in style. This was mentioned on Top Gear by guitarist Ronnie Wood, and this has been confirmed to me on a drummer's forum by Charlie's drum technician.
So Stuart, you are in fine company!
