Title: Zoe Zipper/Bubu 501 videios on utube
Post by: Stuart Cyphus on April 19, 2010, 01:01:28 AM
On the eve of bringing home the Bamby, I found myself looking up some of those Zoe Zipper/Bubu 501 videos on utube to get me in the mood. seeing as they're about the closest thing on there to a Bamby. Lo & behold, there's a couple of new ones worth seeing....   :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4s6zFVm9qI&feature=related   (A somewhat surreal Ninja chase!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YvRiponkis     (What looks like a Bubu gathering: Whats that 4-wheeled white thing?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkGaAqDP8E4     (Off-roading, Zoe Zipper style!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjOS2sKBcuw&feature=related    (not sure what this is, but heck, I like it!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9VD0v_evy0&feature=related    (some other weird Japenese thingy)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUTmSBcZp48&feature=related   (More Bubu's & a KR175 thrown in for luck)

....and for those viewers unfarmilier with the subjects, on your left, a Bubu 501, & on your right, a Bamby.   :)

That was fun Stuart. What the hec was that orange thing in the woods, looked like a ufo had landed! I thought the fourth clip down featured a Suzuki CV1 but on closer scrutiny I dont think it is. About your Bamby, I know of a few examples that did manage sustained use on the roads, one was converted to electric, another had a 125 Piaggio motor transplant and my own which was the one sold at the bubblecar museum auction also with an engine change[Suzuki CP80, the mounting holes are the same as cs50 as fitted]. All had mods done to the brakes, you will find that there is no fluid reservoir, you have to top up the cylinder its self with a tea spoon, complete madness! How it ever got road legal in the first place is a mystery to me. Great body shape though, shame they didn't stick with the gull wing door. Good acquisition Stuart, I'm jealous!

I agree, great clips.  So when does the Witney Motor Museum open?   ;D  You have quite a collection.  Are you bringing the Bamby as carry-on to Ken's in August?   8)

If it were a toss up between the Bamby or the Bubu, I'd have the latter.

Me too. At least it would have been designed by an engineer and not a painter and decorator!

I would have a Bamby with Bubu bits in so it works better, a Bumby!

Not a KR175 but the miniture copy of the Messerschmitt made I think. Not sure of the exact history but I know it happened.

Makes you proud to live in country where weird little cars are not put into production as it has been banned and/or is to difficult to start a company. One thing is for sure the Microcar still has something to offer the world if someone can nail the production and design issues now imposed by Spot Bot man.
