I got a birth certificate from Audi for my Prinz, and it says the color is Lotus White. I am pretty sure it's still it's original color, since it all matches, although its been resprayed, I think it's been resprayed with the correct paint.
By 1971 when my car was built, NSU was just one of VAG's badges, so Im wandering, is the ''lotus white'' that NSU used the same paint as Audi lotusweiss L282>
Anybody know?

If you have the original chassis plate on your car it MAY give you the paint code . But if you can find an ICI book, or similar guide , on paints swatches of the year of your car you will see various batches of the colour of yours . The batches all vary slightly one to another , like normal paint batches & wallpaper etc .( as well as fading over the years ) .
The long & short of it is if your part spraying it makes a differance , but if a total respray
then from a practical point of view it wont really make much differance.
Was the original paint cellulose or not etc etc ? or do you want a modern paint finish like 2K that resistes the bird poo ?
Its your informed & researched opinion that makes the choice .
