Title: Solid state voltage regulators

Can anyone recommend a good solid state voltage regulator for a six volt system, negative earth,90 watt dynamo, ect. Has anybody out there used one to replace the traditional mechanical type?

I would suggest looking in the classic motorcycle sites and mags,plenty of that sort of thing about,
my LE doesnt have one so cant comment on that im afraid!

Hi all. I finally solved my Inters missing voltage regulator problem. Have fitted a solid state one called a V-REG 11 Dynamo regulator which is available for 6 and 12 volt applications. Its designed to replace the lucas type reg. The wiring turned out to be compatable with my westinghouse gyrostarter. I was able to get an old french machanical reg and strip out the internals and put the solid state one in the old casing thus keeping the period look. So far so good , it wont get a real test until the car is on the road, could be a few months away yet.
