Title: What is this? Mystery Microcar!
Post by: Jonathan Poll on June 17, 2012, 06:44:33 AM
Hello all,

Someone in my facebook group is wondering what one of his friends cars is. They have no idea. I asked for a bit more info, like country engine and chassis pics, may help identify it!

Here are some pictures:

To me, the rear looks like a Frisky, but the front doesnt.

Could it have been made by Attica? The owner I think lives in Greece. Attica made at least four more cars then the normal "fuldamobil Attica". The Dimitriadis 505, which is a 4 wheeler:

Another one that they built was the reverse "Fuldamobil Attica" truck, which I posted a while back, but here it is again:

This one is the DIM 652, but that was in 1977.

Lastly, the Attica Carmel.

I've got a feeling that unknown car could be an Attica, since its fibreglass (I think all Atticas were fibreglass), same steering wheel (well it is a common one!), Doors are very similar. The rear is the weirdest bit though, only reminds me of the Frisky.

Anyone know what it could be? Whatever it is, I love it!

Looks Fulda underneath, with Heinkel 4 wheeler type engine? Pictures cunningly do not show any mechanical bits to hang the body on. I wonder why the steering assembly is to long?

The 505 is a Goggo in disguise.

Yeah, I was thinking fulda underneath, but hesitated because of the 4 wheels. There again, the Messerschmitt K-106 has a schmitt engine and 2 rear wheels.

It reminds me of a Vespa 400 at the front and a Frisky tail end. Could it be a home made one off?

I guess the thing we need is the country its from. England made many fibreglass microcars, but greece made the more obscure ones.

Could be homemade, but it seems too well made. Can't really tell in the pics, but the wheels seem a bit bigger than Fuldamobil ones...

Not very familiar with the K-106. I thought the rear wheels where wider apart. The Heinkel rear will be on 10 inch wheels so it makes sense for the front wheels to be adapted to fit Heinkel 10 in split rims. Also the Heinkel engine will fit under the rear load deck with the raised section under the window housing the upright cylinder and cooling assembly. The wheels on the swing arm will fit below the load deck as can be seen. It is a kind of normalised Attica/Attila, I forget which had this semi pick up on the back, where the Fulda front has been changed for a more traditional shape. However so many licenses were sold that it could be another deviation. The Heinkel engine would tend to suggest later design.
