A Google translation for those who don't speak in the mother tongue of the Netherlands. I wonder if the table football game goes with it?  ;D

Pilot / galette Ydral of 1953. Lightweight aluminum.

Offered because of serious restricting collection with a heavy heart: this extremely rare Kleinwagenrarietät. I have known only two of these carts in the International

Microcar - scene of the pilot schwedischern origin and another copy in France, but with identical names Ydral galette.

The thing is as wacky as obscure: up to a Swedish publication, and the counterpart fransösische galette is not much known of this little beauty.

Design is from the Swedish SAAB engineer Ulf Cronberg and dates from the late 40s. The aircraft was the source of inspiration you can see the little ones everywhere.

This delicate piece of jewelry weighs just 250kg, thanks to ultra lightweight Superleggera construction-art: a very solid ausgeklügelterund Zentralrohrramen with Bird Cage / Bird Cage construction,

dressed in a skin of aluminum.

The beautiful and elegant rear end rundungen betray the hand of the master plate artist.

Only the front wheel arches and the two doors are damaged stainless steel door bottom edges are, see pictures.

As with Heinkel Cabin, Fuldamobil, Brütsch tricycle and countless other small cars of the fifties, the motor is placed centrally in front of the rear wheel, the 175 is Ydral cc here

But it is not completely assembled.

The Ydral was driving at the Contemporary supercreations Avolette as "Jet", Rolux, Galy, Solyto, Decolon, Mochet, Inter and Brissonnet "Speed".

The pilot still looks the most tsjechischen Kreijbich Coronet or the English, although they were stronger but it is motorized, the crude steel

or thick plastic body had to move forward. Constructed so smart and easy as the pilot there were not many small cars!

A unique opportunity for small car collectors! Who wants to make the thing actually gets more mobile quite what to do, anyway, such an object must of course

no tasteful collection!

Delivery within 10 days after purchase or after binding agreement.

Have fun bidding!

Assuming the information on the ebay advert was correct, there's more on the following link. Somewhat akin to the better know Mochet velocars, the Pilot was conceived as a pedal powered cyclecar and this chap Ulf Cronberg offered plans and a guide on how to build the thing. Depending on which website you look at, the vehicle's called the Swedish Pilot CB101, the CB101 Pilot, the Pilot MCB101 or numerous variations thereof. It was always a something you had to build yourself and the plans were available from the 1930's. Presumably the "Pilot" bit in the Pilot Galette Ydral 1953 Aluminium is just one ingredient in the resulting gateau?

Cronberg's plans were cited as the inspiration for the first modern commercially produced velomobile, the Leitra in 1983.

So are we saying that this one is a one off home build? Some of its construction is somewhat curious so this would make sense.

It would be nice to know for sure - hopefully if jean-do tracks it down, we'll know more. I've not seen it, I'm only going on what was written about it when it was advertised on Ebay. It is i believe one of the only microcars ever built that includes a fully working table football game.

This is pretty cool, anyone know how much this thing sold for? Would be cool if it had an engine so you could drive it around.

Around 3000 euro, not much regarding its rarity, but quite a lot regarding the design :-)
