Title: Latest acquisition...
Post by: Jonathan Poll on November 17, 2012, 07:50:00 PM
Hey all,

This is my latest toy! Gonna pick it up tommorow!

The seller found the seat and the missing body/engine cover!

May not get it running tommorow, may be too dark (we will be out during theb afternoon, with the moped on the trailer :P)

Thats a pretty little machine! I'd say that qualifies as a sports moped. How many gears does it have?  Talking of which, I'm off to Suffolk in the morning on the Kneel Wheels run, cant decide which bike to take, Guzzino or the Puch. This is the run that involved the cabbage field incident last year, I have to do something to top that tomorrow! :D  Keep me posted on progress Jonathan.

Sat here at dawn and it looks to be a clear day. Good run weather hopefully then. I think the classic trip through a barn with straw and chickens flying out of all apertures is called for!

Haha good one dad ;)

Bob, I'm not going to restore it, needs to much to eb restored, but I may "hack" it. It is a sports moped, it's 3 speed. The forks are of the BB3 SP, you can see the forks are different colourn from the rst (all original paint). If I ever do "hack" it, it will be brush painted black maybe (with silver on the tank like it has now), nthing fancy at all, just a bodge! Gonna pick it up hopefully in a few minutes (we were meant to be there now, but my dads currently haing a haircut, remivong some of whatever hair he has left :P)

My dad got it running while I was at school today!

This evening I worked on the rear wheel: repair slow puncture (inner tube had over 10 punture repairs on it, seriously! Now has 1 more ;) ), cleaned up the whitewall and cleaned up the chrome.Came out quite nice too!

Yeah! I also need to add in some Castrol R for the smell too ;)

If the Catholics and high C of E put Castrol R in their Hand-grenades of Antioch they swing about they might get a good turn out of petrol heads.

I can see it. The Poll Lourdes Restoration Miracle Rally where crap cars and bikes are basted in holy water and the sponsors Castrol R incense to running condition. Then further treatment if appropriate before a run up a handy Pyrannie with a tunnel for pro-celebrity exhaust sniffing. Marvellous.
