Title: My website
Post by: marcus on January 28, 2013, 04:10:55 PM
This was recently closed down by the host after a change in the law which holds hosts accountable. He has made many sites, and on one (NOT mine!) there was a libelous remark and he had to pull the plug on the whole lot.

I have been throwing together a wordpress site for myself and think I have managed to put the link on my profile here. I will add some micro car stuff soon, but prioritising "work" at present.

This includes music, CDs and musical instruments, some You Tube videos, and other activities including some Antiques Restoration work and props for TV programmes and Museums.

If you have some spare time please have a browse. I think you can get to it any time through my profile, but here is a link anyway:

It was a few months ago and now the host of a site can be held legally accountable for anything libelous posted on it, regardless of who posted it. It always used to be accepted in law that you could not be held responsible for the crimes of another. The new law is partly so the government can reduce criticism of itself and partly due to some of the Press, Police and Politicians  collaborating in illegal phone tapping...they misbehave, we pay the price!

What if the host is not in Britain? I would suggest the law is powerless. So once again an inducement to disengage from active action within Britain to the advantage of our competitors abroad, who might pick up any crumbs of trade to be had. Brilliant! Meanwhile our 900% debt crisis grows worse. Sorry, that's a secret, we will all now be sued.

Knee-jerk reaction Law is rarely good law.
Except for lawyers.
