There will always be winners and losers depending where you live when it comes to the National but also it depends on how badly you want to go.

Oh thats handy. It goes without saying then that you will be driving your car there?
My computer isnt showing a smiley for some reason, just a few squiggles hence my taking you seriously!

the "squiggles" bob are a home made smiley and therefore more worthwhile - unless he's a sill old twit who didn't realise you could just click on the icon above  ;) - surely not !

Oi!
I learned to use computers so long ago that I can talk about baud rates on modems, cassette tapes with programs on them and even 8 inch floppies! I remember when Vic was not a decongestant but a type of computer and the days when Asteroids was state of the art in graphics! Or even when a Mac was a raincoat and Apples were called Lisa.

If only my heap of poo was MoT'd or even running ...

:-(

Perhaps I should bring it along and we can diagnose the issue with it?

What is the car by the way? Schmitt? You must bring it along and you never know we may get it running on the spot!
I still dont see how a few squiggles make a smiley though! :D

Ignore richards cheekyness,, none of his cars work either! ;D

Hey, maybe we should have a RUMCARS forum members meeting? Just to introduce each other if we are not allready aquainted. What do you think? Sunday 1.00pm at Thumper 144YUH?

Good Idea Bob.

Bring your own chair and we can form a forum circle

Name Badges would help

Who is going to prepare an agenda?

Are you going to be chairman?

How about some biscuits?

I can do a powerpoint presentation on the content of Issue 118.

Does that sound like a good plan?

Chris (Kiljoy) Thomas

See you there

anyone dark haired and upright must be an imposter - or jamie  :)

anyone loitering with a mask , striped sweater and bag marked swag could be from the "export dept. " and best avoided  :)

i really don't mean to be a party pooper but isn't fuel a pain ! googled the trip and fuel estimated cost is £ 27.94 x 2 and £7 entrance and £11 overnight . i wouldn't mind so much but the week before Beaulieu and thats a load more EEEK . is it just me feeling the pinch ?
Title: Re: The National
Post by: Bob Purton on August 30, 2013, 09:10:51 PM
Dont know what your moaning about Richard, I dont even want to think about what the fuel is going to cost me! I just heard that Mike plant is Ill and cant come with me so I cant rush him for half the fuel costs this time. Oh well, as John Gregson said to his missus in Genevieve  after rowing with her the night before the Brighton run...." I'll make the run alone" spoken in a martyristic tone! :D

What a good National show up at Malvern. We spent the Saturday in the company of James May of Top gear fame. He even participated in the road run in a TG500! More details and photo's to follow I'm sure.

When I owned my yellow schmitt I often thought of changing the trim to the deluxe with the second colour to the lower parts but could never think of a colour that would suit the yellow. I saw this car at the national and asked the owner how he came up with such a good colour combination, he said I got the idea from a Lidl's carrier bag!
Title: Re: The National
Post by: blob on September 02, 2013, 02:21:03 PM
Nice car, not sure about the combination, though I'm guessing the custard yellow's attributed to the paleness of the photo, the same car look brighter in the the James May pic above, I think I prefer the two tone of Malcolm's TG, looked like a grand day out was had by all though.

Not quite, about 75% recovered, hope I can still make Beaulieau, though now the line up is fully apparent I'm more annoyed! As my favourite car of all time (Fulda) was present  >:(

Thanks Richard!

It was fantastic to see the Fulda, one of my favourites as well. But it was also a bit of shame that it was parked so closely between the Vespa 400 and the NSU Sport Prinz that it was hard to get a decent picture of it. Still the chap who owned it did go to the trouble of bringing nine cars, so it seems a bit trite to moan about their positioning. High praise though to the Gordon owner who let Stuart Cyphus wheel it around down to the bottom of the field to allow photographers a clear backdrop for this near-mythical conveyance.
Title: Re: The National
Post by: richard on September 04, 2013, 06:33:04 PM
yes the Fulda in all it's slightly worn originality - love it , you cant put a price on a nice complete original . i do wish Lawrence had brought out his OTHER Bruetsch - although nice to see the Rollera again - very stylish and i think has more about it than the Mopetta myself  ;)

Was it true that James May had a body double ? Something to do with shots of the TGR whilst he was in the American car ?
