I am intrigued to know why we have hidden members who are allowed access to the forum are they afraid to be seen to be owning a microcar after all they could use a pseudonym to hide their identity

Remember seeing some of the members in the school showers when I was a kid. Most of them should have been kept hidden away. :o ;D

I cant see the issue really. Its people using pseudonyms that I find more disturbing.

I am quite happy to have my name instead of the pseudonyms but why should we when others cower away and hide bit like the people who block their numbers on the phone then moan when you do not ring them back
As for the pseudonyms how many Gary's are there or Richards who want that particular name so they have to have something else

I'm not really all that fussed but its nice to know who you are talking too. re your other point, there are a lot of Bobs and Richards out there but how many Bob Purtons or Richard Warrens do you know? Just use both your names. Simples! Or have I misunderstood your point?

You could use a relevant combination of real name and tag name:-
'Jim the Aerosol' for instance?

Well, at least you know I am Pete, from my user name. Or at least I purport to be Pete. Had Bob not met me to know I am indeed Pete I might actually be a Susan. So, what's in a name? And how do you know the name is real? I've met Bob but in the absence of asking for formal ID he might actually be a Simon or a Roger. Am I bothered by this conspiracy theory? Well, not really. But what does bother me are the Internet scammers and fraudsters lurking in the shadows, waiting to steal my identity and clone me financially and for that reason I shy away from using my full name on the Internet and will not participate in FB, twitter and the like.

Actually I have no privileged information as to any forum users name. Only the administrator has that.[I think?] I don't know who the hidden ones are either. I was taking an educated guess at yours. Sorry it upset you, its now blanked out. All three moderators are actively encouraging users to use there real names though due to recent problems.

Bob I have removed comment as you have and I am quite happy to use name on here when I find password I think I have said enough on this now and will say no more

Changed mine from Mark USA to Mark Green, only took 1/2 hour to figure out password!

:D Its not just me that doesn't right them down then! Thanks Mark. Some members are retaining there ID name as they are fond of it but adding there real name below. This is also helpful and much appreciated.

In my opinion, when in Rome do as the Romans do, so when on an internet forum use a silly pseudonym. There are other Bob Purtons out there, I know for a fact there are endless Mike Plant's and at some point whilst using our real names there'll will be a case of Bob Purton 1, Bob Purton 2, then we'll be right back to using pseudonyms, it's not supposed to be serious! Hence me using 'blob' the most unpretentious silly but still bubble related name going.
Hidden members might merely be those who have held a past grudge, etc, etc who cares! We all know that sacred micro information is only divulged at rallies, including sales of rarities etc. Enforcing real names only sanitizes the whole essence of the forum, things have got way too serious since BW auctioned his collection! ???

Its not being enforced Mike Plant, just encouraged. Something else that was being discussed was only allowing people to post on the forum who have either a car on the register or subscribe to RCN. Its a mine field as anyone could register a car without proof that they actually own it. I'm for leaving things as they are.

I agree, besides it works in your favor to be divided. Those that use their real names have hierarchical status: key members such as founders of RUM, founders of individual registers, moderators, administrators, or those whose skill-set or business far out way mere enthusiasm, separating such as I who need not stand out, that's the beauty of anonymity.
Having a list of names without this distinction, I feel is a hindrance.

Nice idea except how many members have since bought a car or are newly subscribed from joining the forum first?

Well, I think the idea was that people could access the forum and read all the posts but not contribute so it could still be an introduction to the world of microcars and encourage ownership and subscription but remove the risk of trouble makers. It was just an idea.
