350cc Two Stroke - New

That 350cc two stroke twin engine must be useful for something microcarish?

Our own Jim Lugsden swears by them, or did he say swears at them? :D

Have you not seen his combo at the openday?

Re using the engines in microcars, at least this now comes with electric start so it may be possible to use one infor instance  a Berkeley if you don't mind not having reverse gear. In other microcars the cooling would be the issue.

I can't think of any other big cc two stroke that is available.  Would be great if the sidecar version had reverse.

That is the later version of the engine used in Velorexes. My Velorex came with the basic castings of the later, squarer engine.

Any reverse on a Velorex?

The engines were fitted with a Pal Dynastart so you ran the engine backwards like a KR. Sadly my Dyna was broken, and the windings are of flat copper wire and no-one in UK could fix it even with a detailed diagram. I rigged up a starter motor feeding throuh an angle grinder's bevel gear head to turn a roller which could be pulled by a cable to press on the back wheel. Only good on reasonably level ground, and the rubber sleeve needed frequent replacing, so all added up to why I p-ex'd the Velorex for a Trojan...more liveable with.
