After 13 hours on the road we finally got home in one piece, with on indicator not working on the trailer, and the road works on the M1 and M25 trying to brake the record for the longest road works in history! ;)

thanks to Richard for coming to help us get the cars on the trailers and to Fred for driving the Ginetta onto the trailer for us. ;D

now we have to do it all over again this Saturday!  :o

.....with on indicator not working on the trailer.....
This is, of course, correct illumination for a trailer.

Conscientious trailer-towers will also check before towing that when they apply the brakes, all the trailer lights go out, which is also correct.  Many are wired incorrectly and some bright red lights illuminate when braking, giving those following an unfair chance to avoid driving into the empty trailer.

Hi marcus if you watch the John Peel video , above , it mentions that Brians car no longer works - and that was maybe 20 years ago . Brian died a few years ago and his two sons have decided that for now at least the car can go on loan to the hammond collection . Perhaps a challenge for Jeans open day in the summer ?

Okay so 2.30 this afternoon the Unicar left WIRRAL - not Liverpool Jamie - for Jeans in Kent . The Unicar , on loan to The Hammond Collection , is on it's custom made 1960's trailer , fitted with new mini tyres and wheels . Hopefully Michael , Jamie and Unicar will arrive home safely this evening . Jamie no doubt will post some of the pictures he took .

It is now 8.50 pm and Michael and Jamie have just reached home after a rather slow journey home, battling with heavy traffic north of Birmingham, then rain and wind at the Dartford crossing.  The trailer bearings were grinding rather worryingly but they made it home. It will probably have to stay in the carport overnight so that it can be unloaded more easily in the daylight.  I am sure Jamie will have some pictures to show when he has recovered from a very long day.   Jean

Very glad to hear all well , the very last thing I said to them both was to keep an eye on the 40 year old wheel bearings - but there wasn't much they could do .  >:(

Glad they made it, that Dratford bridge is high and hairy on a windy day, like the time I crossed in my old hi-top Extra-Long Wheelbase Transit. The rainbow was 3/4 of a circle from up there, reflected in Old Father Mud, quite a sight, but those crash barriers seem far too low when your van is being buffeted!

Oh err! Is that an excess of run off water at the Farm. Trust it is not reaching property.

G26. An odd choice of car. Pinto I think, so Sierra base? I had a notion to go down a Ginetta saloon route as something different but I never pursued it. Kind of took over from Gilburn I suppose. None of them really made a big impact though. Interesting choice.
