Title: Flywheel magneto internal HT coil.

Any auto electricians on the forum?
The HT coil has packed up on my Guzzi Guzzino 65cc bike. New coils are not available as far as I understand and people who have had there's rewound have complained of them working ok for a while only to fail again.
I'm thinking of installing a battery and external coil system still using the internal points and condenser. My question is how to keep the battery charged. Can I charge it using the lighting coil with some kind of rectifier? If so what type and how would the wiring go?  Any help much appreciated.
