It is an Isetta race car.
I believe it was created in Argentina, and obviously in period.
Anyone remember more?

I found the following.
The car is a Romi-Isetta 1956 modified and prepared by Emilio Comino, known preparer for racing cars and motor racing enthusiast; his workshop was also an Authorized Romi-Isetta one. Note that the front was modified with the addition of a kind of "nose", possibly to improve the aerodynamics. Emilio Romi, founder of Industrias Romi (then still called Romi Agricultural Machinery) appears standing, wearing a dark suit. Its the Interlagos circuit. The year should be 1958 since there is reference to elections held that year. The candidate was announced possibly John Pacheco Chaves and elected Congressman (1959-1963). Also clearly visible is a reference to the Drive-in Totem, located at Avenida Santo Amaro and meeting point for pilots (http://ruiamaraljr.blogspot.com.br/2011/04/speed-ii.html). The question is who was driving the car ...
Isnt that Brazil not Argentina? I will stand corrected.

There is a film of an Isetta driving round Brasilia. Peru also took a lot of cars. Unlike some other imported assembly initiatives the Isetta seemed to work out quite well. If the Falklands Isetta British or Argentine. I am assuming the Galapagos one with be South American. Not many places in the world are you safe from Isettas.

Yes it was Brazilian, not Argentinean. I must have read about it 20 years ago.

Well I imagine it must be , mustn't it but although fun and exciting in it's micro way I would have to say it's still hardly a racer . As al queried I wonder what it was up against?
