I'm pretty sure the MOC Southern at the Queens, Hornchurch fizzled out years ago.
Good idea to put the list up though.  Thanks.

Hmm. Bit of a thin list, it seems. Several clubs have a published list, but I feel it is pointless putting the information up, as I can see its very out of date. The IOCGB are carrying an event in my name that finished over 10 years ago when the meeting divided in half after the loss of the Landlord, another that is probably the same age of dysfunction, the nominated contact having rather publically moved to the Welsh coast! No real excuse for this. Means I will have to check those meetings that are up to see if that information is correct. And we return to my diatribe on advertising. Wrong info is as bad as no info. Cruising the club websites, it is interesting to see the lack of joined up thinking going on. Much based on 'its not my responsibility' or isolationism (which is kind of in opposition to the idea of having a club really. Very odd), I expect.

Of course it could be that, like so much else in the world, the clubs have changed into organisations where next to no members go out, possibly driving their cars, and socialise. This would account for the lack of meetings and the lack of positive feedback. If so I am not sure how they get stuff made, as with the Messerschmitts the clubnight was important for the exchange of part complete projects to the next in a chain of skills, ideas, inspection of parts and even the handing of parts to the organisation or person retailing them. Indeed it is the decline in this activity due to deaths and club politics that has seen one local pubnight shrinking. If the thinking is Facebook and texting has replaced the need to physically go out and meet people, then I feel sorry for you.

Good idea this list Al

The first on the list at Staplefield started off as the Sussex Bond Owners Club, we used this venue for many years, then the Schmitt guys joined us and now it is effectively the southern area Microcar Club.

You can add myself as a contact too....Nick Mander on 07887 950814

Cheers

Bretforton saw a good turnout of microcars. NSU, Trojan x 2 and a Schmitt celebrated lighter evenings over a pie and a pint. Sadly the Schmitt blotted its copybook by having a flat tyre when it was rime to leave. Seemed the valve stem had failed, bit odd. But harps to what the Bonders were on about with new tubes, gaiters and chafing elsewhere.

On the back of that it looks like we might have signed up several cars to Lorton's Scottish Microcar Club Rally. Get those cars out!

So while Tormarton bumps along, Bretforton is worth the trip out. Bit of a step from here, about 110 miles round trip across the Cotswolds, over Tormartons easier 84.
