Oh dear. That has been a long owned car.

My experience is that the Schmitters at large, and Micronauts are a tight enough community to find cars if someone takes the trouble to initiate contacts, reminders and keep right on top of all advertising. This got my car back after it was stolen. The Police did little but back up any good sold information. I had to tdo the legwork and load the weapons for them. I tried telling John Dobb this after he lost the Isetta and BMW 600. I do not think he took the advice and as far as I know his cars are still missing despite some good info.

Hopefully there is some info to go on.

Lousy thing to do. I think such an unusual car is either stolen to order or for stripping into bits and parted out, although not sure a KR175 is the wisest car to do that for Joe scumbag and co.

A colleague at work had a nicely sorted Mark two Escort nicked from his lock-up, the last he saw of it was a picture taken by a cctv camera down the Essex Road.

Don't expect any help from plod.

An extract from Nicholas from earlier today :
I am sorry to report that this afternoon I received an email from the factors for my lock up to say that the door had been reported open. On going to investigate, both padlocks had been prised off and the door burst open. Inside all was untouched, but TPX 743 was not there. No other lock up in the block had been broken into; so, the conclusion has to be that the car was targeted. Obviously, it would be a hard thing to punt in the UK, but I suppose that worked over it could be flogged off , particularly if exported. Anyway, I fear it will be the last we see of it. Anyway, please advertise the possibility of a red-hot 175 entering the market place as widely as you can. Although it still had the cracked dome, it looked very new and shiny, having recently been resprayed.  One telling feature is that the floor pan was entirely to the design of Derek Cole, flat with the floor and sidewalls wrapped round a tube running their length. In all the years I had it (30) no one ever noticed this 'inaccurate' detail, but it was obvious if you looked or felt under the sides.

The said car in action, note the mega rare side rack :

here is a static pic snagged from that video which is easier to share without having to watch the video.
also the serial number is apparently 10007 and the dome has some sort of lettering/phrase across the back in yellow letters.
Title: Re: KR175 stolen- Good News

Just received the following good news from Nicholas

I have just received word that the police have located the car. They think it is undamaged, in that it still looks like the pictures (not burned out or vandalised) and seems to have been dumped on a patch of wasteland. I have no doubt it will have had some battle scars, but with luck these will be not to difficult to sort. They are taking it away to conduct a forensic analysis.

Good news indeed.  I can just picture what happened.  Fingers was told by Mr Big to "go get a Tiger" for the client and Fingers, being thick, ended up poaching a 175 of all things. Probably when Mr Big saw he'd been stitched up with a 175 instead of said Tiger, Fingers has probably ended up with no kneecaps anyway for the insult....   ;D

(Just playing on historic Messerchmitt snobberies there)  ;)
