Why is it the same weekend as the main Beaulieu Autojumble and Netley Marsh?

Would give up most other shows to go to microcar rally, but Beaulieu/Netley is an important one. As it is, Beaulieu clashes with several other shows i have to miss; last year i left early and did another show on the sunday, which made it all rather hectic.

Hi  folks and folkettes ,
I appreciate the concern and comments over the National Microcar rally clashing with other events . There's several reasons why rallies are held on the dates which are published . Among those reasons are holidays available to the organisers , school holidays , and availablity of venues . Many of the suitable venues have other events planned and it is a matter of fitting in with those which have already been arranged there , while trying to keep our event more-or-less when people expect it to be . The early September date has been usual for the NMCR since the early days when notable Rum-mer Tony Marshall and some pals held the very first event . Please remember that for 2007 there were no volunteers to organise the NMCR until a couple of months ago , so the choice of dates available to the organisers was limited . And , of course , as the event is a major focus on the international rally scene we have to fit it in with the dates of overseas events , such as the Dutch Rally , two weeks before ours . Nevertheless , we hope you can come and we look forward to seeing you there. Terry Parkin .

Here are the updated details of NMCR 2007

Hi Ferdi , it's good to hear from you . Is there any news yet about Otto and Marianne opening Story Automuseum again ?  It would be great to be able to meet all our German friends again .

Hi Terry,
im sad to tell you there are no more news about the Story museum. Loads of rumours but nothing accurate.
Im missing this meeting as well, coz this was the most international meeting ever. Its sad i ain't meet my british mates no more.
There is no other alternative for Story at all i reckon!
Keep on bubbleing , mate
Cheers
Ferdi

I hope to get to the NMCR this year...first ever, but only after a gig was cancelled! Just down the road is DUXFORD where the Battle of Britain Memoria;l Fight are displaying their Lancaster, and a Hurricane and Spitfire (not Triumph). I may well pop down for a look on Saturday or sunday.

Can anyone yet say exacly where the Saturday Roadrun is going to and how far? If my Mini-Comtesse makes it to Huntingdon, the answer will have quite a bit of bearing on just how much of the run it does..... If we are there in time, it WILL be taking part in the run, but once everything else hares off into the distance (about a mile up the road), I shall probebly turn round and head back to the campsite. After all, its no fun on your own........

Does anyone know price details? Do we pay in advance or can I pay when I arrive? Looking forward to getting to a NMCR at last!

Hello Marcus, You just pay when you turn up, then after that; ENJOY!...............

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! My grumpy boss turned his back for half an hour today, during which I saw my chance and swiped the keys to the works van for the weekend  ;D so the Mini-Comtesse WILL indeed make it to Huntingdon after all.....  :o

                                     ;D                                                         ;D                                                                     ;D

Form an orderly queue you lucky people you.......   :-*

Dan,
yes, graham Johnsons Mk 2 was rear ended whilst waiting at traffic lights on the outskirts of Huntingdon, sadly his event spoiled after only a couple of miles by an inattentive( stronger words were used at the time) driver of a modern car. He'd trailered down from Scotland to bring the car to the event .
Luckily Tony Marshall has ( amongst many others) a Mk2 that he would allow a mould to be taken from to manufacture a repair panel and i've offered this to graham ,The logistics of Norfolk / Wolverton / Scotland have yet to be sorted.

As for the Rally itself great weather, plenty of cars...110 by saturday night i was told ,and watching the boyish enthusiasm of contributer to this forum Marcus sprinting alongside the collection of Motorhomes and tents trying to get a photo of a micro ,( the busy bee i think) as it sped out of sight along the dusty track on a short lap of the field.

Ah, Barchetta, that must be you with the lovely hot Fiat, I meant to meet up and find out about it. Is it a standard model or has it been modified. I have seen those lovely Fiats with open tops and chrome hand rails down the sides. There is never enough time to meet everyone and see everything.

Went out & had a look at that today. Lots of bubbles and complete with several RUM members acting as pin-up boys as well...  :o  Perhaps we should do one of those calenders like the Micro Maniacs did a few years back. Actully, on second thoughts, perhaps not EXACLY quite like that......   ;)
