Title: What is this for? Nobel question
Post by: rettus72 on November 30, 2020, 02:39:31 PM
Good morning, can someone please tell me what the metal object that runs parallel with the right side window frame is for? I do not have this on my Nobel, and I’m curious as to what it is used for. Picture attached. Thanks Joel

From looking at other photos of pickups, this appears to be alloy strip which is slotted at the rear and wraps round to run up inside the windscreen pillars. It would serve as a handy point for mounting some kind of side screen that could slide into the slot. I've never seen anything to suggest that side screens were every offered, but then so few of these pickups exist. The early brochure does show a sort of frame structure for the roof and you could have some weather protection that wrapped around this with some kind of zip in doors or windows. - In fact I just re-read the brochure and it actually mentions canvas side panels though the ones in the photos don't cover the door area.

Great, thank you for the fast reply. That does make sense.
