Whos going to the farm?
« on: July 15, 2006, 06:10:35 PM »
Hi all,

Was wondering what to expect from Jeans open day in a few weeks?

Im planning on camping with my fellow invacar nut Stuart Cyphus and travel down with him after riding my Honda C90 from Worcester to Witney!

Are we allowed to sit/drive in any of the cars? what is the general sort of thing that goes on?

Anyone else on here making the trip?

all the best,

Daniel Rodd

Hi Dan,
Why don't you bring Stuart all the way on the bike?
I went to Southampton and back in a day from Eastbourne, East Sussex on an NSU Quickly two up.
Oh, that was back in 1961/2.

Hi Dan, This is Jean, we are quite a friendly bunch as no doubt Stuart will tell you.  We can offer you a field to camp in,a BBQ to cook your own grub on and hot and cold drinks on tap during th4e weekend. Or there is a pub within walking distance that does excellent food including a full English breakfast if it is arranged in advance. Sadly, none of our cars are taxed for the road so driving those of them that are mobile is  a bit restricted.  However many of our other visitors drive their cars to the Farm and are often pleased to take people for rides around the country side.  Hope you will enjoy yourself.

Hi Daniel

I'll be there with my Tuk Tuk.  Last year's event was a great success with all the cars at Jean's place on show in the Bubble Shed and several visitors giving rides in their cars up and down the local lanes.  You can have a ride in one of India's finest if you come along.  Hope to see you and many others there.

Evening all, sadly I will miss this year's open day AND the National Microcar Rally, because of work with the Fezheads and no deputy being available. Drat it!
I have been to two open days and can thoroughly recommend this friendly, relaxing and informal meeting. I have taken people for rides in my old Velorex and in my Trojan, and have had rides in other people's wonderful machines, including Messerschmitt Tiger and a vintage Morgan Aero, of which there were four there last year. Plenty of chat and no hassle. go if you can!
Hope to see you all next year. Marcus

I'm just checking over my steed to make sure its fit to circumnavigate the M25 . Unfortunately the Zastava notification of registration number document came too late to arrange number plate purchase so its going to be Dante Giacosa's finest that will bring me to kent .Hopefully the accolades of his brother ( luigi) starring in disneys latest offering will not detract him from his mission . I'm arranging my route to arrive via Staplehursts car boot extravaganza .
