I found the article on the scootercar rivals interesting and lovely to see a pic of Tom Larkins British Lloyd. Not much else floated my boat this time, Six pages of invalid carrages didnt help. Still you cant please all the people all the time. No reflection on the mag or the editors efforts, its just that we all have different tastes and RCN covers a wide veriaty of vehicles. I often pick up some of the older issues, the ones with fewer pages and re-read them, winter 2001 no. 71 is a favourite, just 20 pages and full of proper period microcars like the powerdrive, Lloyd, Champion,in fact the article "The Golden years" completely sums up my taste in microcars, its a belta of an issue with just one page of "Toilet Blue" which I think is representative of the level of interest amoung the readership. Sorry Stuart, nothing personal, I would love to see an article all about the mechanics and technical data of your Mini Comtesse though. How about it?

I arrived home from Guilfest ( Guildford festival) after a great but knackering w/e and loads of gigs. I was too tired to do anything, but there was RCN waiting for me, and Stuart is right it is a cracker! Sometimes I almost wish for a weak issue so we can offer some constructive criticism!
On the Goggomobil page Maurice Rogers asks about bubble/rum car songs. Well fear not intrepid Rummers, for there is a new song which will be on my debut Captain Bubble mini CD and this has the line "driving in my Bubble car, you're snuggling by my side", the car being my Trojan which will grace the cover. It may even be the 1st song in the 21st century to mention bubbles!
I agree with Stuart, mechanical elephants are the dog's back wheels! Did anyone see that enormous 20ft high one which strode around London a couple of years ago. Also worthy of seeing are the walking sculptures made by Theo Jansens which can be found on you tube. These are amazing, REALLY amazing

Six pages of invalid carrages

???  It was only three & a quarter pages wasn't it? & one of those pages didn't come from me....

Advance notice for everyone, RCN 98 will have Ian Hellings's own account of the Welsh do. And that extends to sixteen closely-typed A4 pages!   :o

Ride in the inter, no problem,  As for mechanical elephants, I think they are fantastic just so long as they are not invalid machanical elephants. Seriously, the machanisms inside those things must be a work of geneous and a feature article would be great, I would even sign up for a monthly news letter! See you on the 27th.

Well Stuart, IF I can make the open day you will have to fight me for first ride in Bob's Inter! And that's my hand high in the sky with a vote for mechanical elephants feature. I know they are not micro cars as such but who cares?! What about a feature on a mechanical Duck Billed Platypus?

Funny you should mention Duck billed platypuses, I sold one recently, I know its not an instrument but I stray from my specialist field from time to time. It went to California as you would expect!
