The wiper motor fitted to my MkD Bond Minicar is a Lucas 12v L1 - not original equipment I know, but near enough. The problem is that the hollow tube that pokes through the windsreen surround, which is threaded on the outside and contains the oscillating wiper shaft, is beginning to rust through. When it eventually fails, the wiper motor will fall into my lap...
The tube itself is screwed to the front panel of the wiper motor box.
Does anyone have a non-working Lucas L1 that they could rob for this part? Or perhaps know where one could be obtained? Otherwise I will have to drill the length of a bolt and weld it on to the wiper box mounting plate, not a job for someone as cack-handed as me!
