« on: January 01, 2009, 03:00:03 PM »
Dear Friends

Further to the book review in Rumcar News 99 of the Mochet book. Is there anybody interested in owning a copy. If there are then we may be able to buy direct from the publishers.

Is anybody seriously interested?

That's four so far. Anyone else? The more that show interest, the better Chris might be able to negotiate a discount for quanity. On French Amazon this book costs 21 Euros, plus 4 Euros 50 postage to UK.   lets see how much further we can get it down if we all pull together.....

Dear Friends

So far we have five people interested in copies of the book for their personal collections. I will leave the subject open for about a week in the hope that we can get the numbers up higher, before I arrange to get a bulk order from the Publishers. Provided it is cheaper than French Amazon then we should be in Business.

I will check with Jean and Tony to see if anybody has contacted them, especially if they are not part of the forum.

Let us hope we can get a good deal.

By the way I saw a book in a Belgian book shop called, My Beautiful  Mobylette, by Francois Skyvington. Not being into mopeds, and the queue to pay being long, I did not get it. Has anybody read it?

hi friends,
what a good idea to have the famous mochet's book in your rack ! mr hermann brunning is MISTER mochet !he knows all of that great family's history . his book is complete about models ,adverts  , printed a few years ago .
if i could help you, i would ask you do not print copys of that ( or doesn't matter what)  book . this method kills the small business of book printing . this book is already a flash copy printing , to be low cost  ,don't prevent mr brunning may be writing a new book ...
you can find some new books-low prices at www.tido.fr (jan de lange 'sbubblecar book for exemple:10 € ! ) .
thank you for doing your best for our common passion.

Dear Jean Do

Good to hear from our special French Friend.

Do not worrry we do not intend to photocopy the book, we are arranging to buy the books from the publishers in Toulouse as no British book shops will get it for us, so we must do it ourselves.

Do you know of any other books we should have in our book collection?

Dont be cheeky Chris, is it my fault that my hair style is currently the height of fashion? I wonder what sort of speed you can get up to in one of these on a level road?

Dear Bob

On a level road, no speed at all, but give me a down hill incline and gravity starts to work in my favour. On one occassion I went through a 30mph zone at the bottom of a hill at 40mph, while freewheeling on my old bike, beat that?
