Dear Chaps

To get back to the original thread . I have ordered 8 copies of the Mochet book from the Publishers in France at about €18 per copy plus postage, compared with €21 plus postage via Amazon France (subject to exchange rade fluctuations). I am not sure when they will reach me but I hope it will be before 1 March 2009.

I have requests for 5 copies so will have 3 copies that will be available probably via the Rumcar book page ( subject to Jeans approval).

More news once they arrive.

Dear friends and fans of the Mochet

The books have arrived from the Publishers (all 8 copies). Now all I need is the credit card bill so I know what exchange rate I have been charged. Then I need to work out the postage rates for domestic and other countries and I should be able to give each of you an exact cost.

Perhaps those of you that want a copy of the book should email me directly at tileroofconsult@btconnect.com and I will quote you individually. But for now I anticipate the cost will be about £18 plus postage and any currency transaction (Dollar or Euro)

For those coming to the meeting on 1 March (you know who you are) we can save the postage cost.

For those of you that want them posted to you I will need your full address, followed at a later date with some cash or a cheque.

I will need to speak with Jean about what we do with the books that are not sold, to see if we can get them listed on the Rumcar book list.

I look forward to hearing from you

Chris Thomas

Dear Friends and fans of the Mochet

The final costs are in for the book, and they are: -

The book  "Mochet Minimalisme Sur Roues"     Â£16.00
Uk second class postage + packaging              £ 1.00
Postage to other locations                            request cost
Currency charge from other locations             request cost

I have 8 copies and 5 are already allocated , so I have 3 copies avaiable to those who have not already expressed an interest.

Please contact me on my email tileroofconsult@btconnect.com to sort out addresses, and payments.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Mike

I will be bringing all the books along with me to the meeting. But should give everybody an equal opportunity to purchase a copy.

See you there

Yes please Chris. In a moment of madness I appear to have bought a Mochet CM-125Y (it's a soft-top so i assume it's a Berline). Please pm me with the details and i'll send payment. All the best, Colin

Hi Colin. Thats good news, please post up some pictures when you get a chance. As a fellow Ydral powered vehicle owner I would love to see it. What kind of starter does it have?  Bob

You know, it feels a but funny owning a microcar again after many years. I've always felt a bit of an outsider on this forum, with my obsession really being directed toward pre-microcar 3-wheelers. But hooray - at last, now I'm as bad as you lot :)

I sold the 1914 Warrick at Beaulieu as well as the Bernardet I bought from Jean-do a few years ago, so I felt I could justify a new toy.

The Mochet will be collected from the Lyon area next week, by one of my French friends, who'll drop it off to me on his way to Stafford Show in a few weeks. So I can tell you more about it then. I may have some questions about it, as i've never owned one before, so i hope i can pick your brains, Bob?

It seems to be a good original unrestored example in running order. The hood hasn't been lowered in many years and the previous owner's scared to do so, so that will probably be the first task. The speedo cable needs replacing. I have no idea of the condition of the interior. That's all I know. I can speak French reasonably but have great difficulty understanding the replies! It seemed a fair deal at 2k euros. Keeping my fingers crossed. Will post photos and add to register when it arrives...
