Marcus, we are a Shadows tribute band, these tracks you mention are not Shads numbers! We do others but I couldnt think of them at 11.30 last night. The lead guitarist insists on doing some Duane eddy which I loath! Anyway, in the second set we get the microphones out and do the usual 60's vocals,

I know Bob, but had to put in a word. Actually one of my tunes is a ukulele instrumental with a definate Shadows feel to it. Might get on to my next CD

I too thought that it would  be fun to drive my red 3 wheeler to work in the snow today.  Was surprised how well it performed but it was very cold.  The heater does not do much though ;D

Great, just great. London is thawing nicely as the snow heads up North. And tomorrow I have to get up at Sparrowfart to go to the Lake District...I might be some time

3 wheelers do not need a front number plate any more.
There was  another one in London yesterday. http://www.itvlocal.com/london/news/?void=283332
Also in todays "Metro" free paper.  http://www.metro.co.uk/e-metro

Dear Trident

Thank you for the link to EMetro. I never knew it existed. Now I do not have to drive to the station to get a free copy to read.

Isn't technology wonderful when it works.

No front number plate for three wheelers? What all three wheelers? Are you sure you dont mean just 50cc moped registered ones?

Yep, all 3 wheelers.
It is optional on older cars like ours, but illegal to have one  on new 3 wheelers. How silly is that?

see; http://www.numberoneshowplates.co.uk/number-plates.php
and http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2001/20010561.htm#6

"For motor cycles and tricycles certain other dictates exist. Tricycles and motorcycles fall in to two categories, those manufactured prior to 1st September 2001 and those manufactured on or after that date. For these type of vehicles those manufactured prior to the date of 1st September 2001, number plates can be displayed on both the front and the rear of the vehicle, however these vehicles by law are only obligated to display the rear number plate, the front number plate being optional. For these types of vehicles manufactured on or after this date only the rear number plate may be displayed."

Its all to do with the weight, the same as the fitting of seatbelts rule. If a three-wheeler is under (I think) 450kg, regardless of age, it does not need either seatbelts or front number plate, so stuff like Messerschmitt KR200's do not need a front plate, but if the vehicle is over that weight, ie, Reliant Jubilee Robin, it DOES require a front number plate.

Its all to do with the old head-in-the-sand rulemakers beliving no motorcycle can weigh more than 450kg & no car can weigh less than 450kg, hence all vehicles UNDER 450kg must therefore be of motorcycle origins & not need a front plate & all vehicles OVER 450kg must be of car origins & therefore has to have that plate.
