Dear Bob

Edith Piaf you mean.

I was her body double in the spec savers advert.

Dear Chris,

No I meant Edith Melba Artois - René's wife, and the café's resident cabaret performer. However, her singing was so bad and tuneless (as René was heard once to comment "my wife, who cannot carry a tune in a bucket..."), the locals stuck cheese in their ears to block out the terrible sound.

Rob.

PS Did you ever see the paintings "The Big Maddona with the Fallen Boobies"?

Dear Bob

I have no idea who or whit you are spoking of . I have heard of Edith Melba Toast with cheese. But as for the punting of the fallen Maddona; I have only soon photo's of her before she was divarced.

I have no Idea if Jam has any idea of whit we are talking aboot, or whit TV era we are in. Only Jam knows that answer.

Keep up the Fronch accent

What the Hello Hello has any of the to do with Microcars ?  You lot are crazy but it makes hilarious reading, I trust that our meeting in March will be a little more sane.  Poor Jim, he must be totally bewildered!

Dear Jean

As Chaiman of the meeting I will rule with a rod of Iron, anybody who tries to confuse Jim by speaking in a very bad Anglo French accent will be laughed at.

I am off to Paris in the morning and will put all my recent French speaking into practice.

Ah, Jim, such perfect French but SO unlike the comedy French in "'Allo, 'Allo" . Or for that matter Monty Python: "You Eengleesh theenk you are so clevairrr.. your Mothairrr was a Hamstairrrr and yourrr Fazerrr smells of elderberries"
Just remember: as one door closes behind you, another slams in your face

oh Monty Python French is well-understood here and also studied in our institutions of higher learning.
