Gordon needs some hinges.

Has anyone got a pair of Morris Minor boot (trunk) hinges they no longer require.

These are the type as fitted to the Gordon's bonnet (hood). Needed urgently.

Must have good bolt threads.  ;D

Can't help, but sounds like work must be going well!

Hi Bob,
If they are Morris Minor boot lid ones then yes, I will have some used ones which you are welcome to have.  The chrome will not be perfect as they are Mazac and it pits with age but will look out the best pair I have.
However, Morris Minor ones and Austin Healey ones look the same but the stud spacing is different as is the profile.  I found out this the hard way as I was sure that it was Morris Minor ones used on the P50 door and bought a new pair only to find they would not fit.  Peel used the Austin Healey ones which at the time were impossible for me to source.

Dearv Rob

It sounds to me as if Gordon is unhinged. But is getting better. We look forward to seeing him in July.

Dear Chris,

Not Gordon, but I am going that way after tinkering with him for 7-8 years.  ;D

Just come in for a break from still working on the Gordon. Well I had to really as I have been attacked by a seagull.  :'(
As I have a largish pond the parent seagulls bought their trio of babies to have a swim while they looked on from my chimney pot. I had to go to the workshop near the pond to pick up the Gordon's windscreen. As I passed the pond one of the babies pannicked and couldn't get out over the low surrounding wall, I was two feet away. Then all hell broke loose. The old male gull swooped down emptying his stomach contents all over me and hitting my head with his beak. Cor! doesn't it hurt? It broke the skin and now I have a bump on my head.
The screen is still in the workshop as the gull still tries to attack me if I go outside.  :o
Unhinged? I could have been if the gull had got to my brain. Who said "what brain?".  ;D

The Birds!
Answer: carry the windscreen around with you to shield yourself when you see them diving at you. We have loads of gulls here in Bermondsey, it's like being at the sea-side. It's even raining, to complete the Summer Hols in England atmosphere.

Dear Rob

My suggestion is to sneak down to the shed at night when the gulls are asleep in their beds.

Also try stretching some indusrial strench stretch wrap film over the pond and watch them try and land on it. It will be a bit like a trampoline.

Show them who is master Rob.
