November's News from Liège-Brescia-Liège 2011
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:48:45 PM »
This Sunday, November 21, we invite all who can to join us for a ‘pie and a pint’ at the Plough Inn in Marsh Gibbon, Buckinghamshire - just off the M40, junction 9: it’s a great chance to find out what our events are all about, submit your entry if you’re ready to do so and see some pictures of the great time we all had on Liège-Brescia-Liège 2010.

We also have some exciting ideas for new events in 2012, especially for the Microcars, which we’d like to discuss – if you have a car too small to do LBL these days, come and listen to our ideas and tell us what you’d like to do too!

Rally preparations are continuing apace, with plenty of news to share with you about our plans for Liège-Brescia-Liège 2011, which will take place on July 15-24 next year. We’d really like to get more clubs involved in promoting the event and are offering a great discount for club teams entering the rally: please tell your club! If you've mislaid the Regulations and Entry Form, just send us an email.

Remember, ours are the ONLY rallies out there purely for SMALL CARS – 500cc – 1500cc on LBL 2011…

500cc to 1500cc? That includes some pretty big cars by european standards.

But small ones by modern and rally standards. Microcars are about minimilism and that is where the divide occours for the enthusiast. Rally fans probobly apply differing criteria.

I think that counts as a Small Car in their terminology, you would have to check. There has only been a few pure Microcar events I think. One LBL and a British tour, not to sure about British tour now without checking. For economic reasons the category catered for had to be opened up since the field needs to reach a size which will pay for the event and supply a competitive element since that is what Rally folk want. Unfortunately the most competitive element in many microcar owners activities is how much their car is worth which is not an enormous lot of use to Malcolm McKay.
