 ???
what is this?   Honda Engine, handmade body (?).  Is this one of those cases where it started out as a 1959 BOND but over the years ALL the parts were replaced with something else?

this car was at the National Microcar Rally maybe 10 years ago with another similar car but different, and i seem to remember the other car had a completely different identity.as i recall neither car had a single bit of Bond in it ! or am i getting it wrong ? how do they get away with it ?

I like it too, even if it does look a bit home-made. No room for Squeak though.

so is it possible this is  just a home-built that has been registered as a 1959 Bond?

You normally have to have a variety of parts such as body, engine, axle, gearbox. Each carries points and if the total adds up to enough then you get the brand, but I fail to see how this can be a Bond when it seems to have a different engine, transmission, chassis, body, and even a completely back-to-front layout. Unless it is an unknown prototype it appears to be incorrectly registered.

Yep, that's exacly what this is. The registration number isn't even anywhere near 1959, being an age-related mark, issued around 2001/2002....   ::)

So if the builder is called Bond then it is a Bond. But not a Bond as we know them.

So if the builder is called Bond then it is a Bond. But not a Bond as we know them.

Perhaps the builder's first name is "1959", that would explain the "name" of the vehicle: "1959 BOND".

I am not going to be popular with some folks, Bob, Perry etc., but I notice this car is for sale from - Essex. The guy selling does not own it. It has a dodgy ID and minimal detail on which to make an informed decision on what exactly you are purchasing. The milage is obscured by the speedo not working. It fits all normal 'Essex' paramiters of iffiness hence the county being known as Iffex, home of things like a car having a bidet, rear wash wipe facility, and so fourth.
In fact this is not a problem confined to Essex but is prevalent Ebay wide of course.
In reality we kind of know whats going on in this case but how to value such a thing?
Messerschmitt set, Goggo Darts, Heinkel 175, Fiat Jolly, Autobianchi, Fairthorpe Electron Minor, Borgward, Isuzu Trooper
Citroen BX 17TZD & GTI 16v
Held - MG Magnette ZB & 4/44
For sale - Vellam Isetta, Bamby, AC Type 70, Velorex, Church Pod, Reliant Mk5, KR200,  Saab 96, Bellemy Trials, Citroen BXs
