Not sure if restored is the right word here! Reconstituted is probably closer

The front Grille would indicate its a MkD.

Late Mk C's had Mk D grilles fitted from new as the two cars crossed over in production a fair bit.

I'd agree, but I don't think Bond ever made a grill that looked quite like that, so I was judging by the big sign they've stuck in front of the car! :)

i love C/D's but thats a hell of alot of effort to put into one . and i think spoils the honesty of the simple little car

Aside from the de-luxe and very un-Bond like seats, its mainly the shape of the front end, the wings are too short, the lights are too big, the bonnets got the wrong profile and the grill looks like it was pressed out in one piece. Perhaps its more subtle than I realised here's a pic of another C to compare.

Its not until you see it along side a correct one that you notice all the discrepancies. Well spotted Mr Chrome!

But if you live in Brazil and the Bonders will not talk to you how do you restore a tatty MkC? It is not as if there is going to be another one just down the road to copy. I wonder what lurks under the bonnet? Or is someone producing a replica Bond now? Some cunning Argentine plan to take back the Malvinas by stealth Bond armoured cars invading at tea time assisted by Taliban trained suicide sheep and rock hopper penguin mines. It could work as we only have five bob in the kitty to mount a new task force without an aircraft carrier. Its only a matter of time.....
