Around the world in a Strange Rover!
« on: July 13, 2012, 12:11:36 AM »
Hey all,

Perfect time for adding the "Off Topic" section on this site.

We were recently invited to a Barbecue at a friends, and asked if we could bring our Bentley, becvause they had a friend over who loves old cars, and is currently touring the world in his home built car he made out of scrapyard metal. All the tubes for chassis etc were made with old Bull Bars, kept in there original form, not even bent for the car!

He has been travelling for 5.5 years, he has been through 92 countries. All of his stories are fascinating. From his travels, to his car barnfinds (he discovered a VERY special E-Type, and other cars!).

You can read up more on his website http://www.OurAdventureBug.com/

They came over for dinner tonight, and we took a few pictures next to a couple of our schmitts. He loved our whole collection, and was suprised how much space there is in a Nobel!

That's a great car, I always like anything hand made, with ingenuity and improvisation over pure styling, will look at the site later, sounds a fascinating person.

Yeah, he was telling us stories from when he was arrested from the Talibans, brave enough to escape during the night, to attending a funeral of someone he didnt know!

I had a go next to him in the car, and its great...

Is it still there? Might be another one to find.

Damnation, another cunning plan foiled. Mind you Grant is halfway there to start with.
