advanced invalid tricycles - primitive microcars ?
« on: August 06, 2012, 09:06:23 PM »
interesting that some of these great little i.c.'s sometimes had a better spec. to their everyday cousins. i have been stripping away the surplus bits from the 9E engine i bought last week . whats this ? hydraulic clutch ? what a good idea ! The Gordon predecessor was the Vernons Vi-car invalid car this had rear shock absorbers and a 9E dynastart engine . the Gordon a developement of was obviously built down to a price no reversing  dynastart just the 6v starter motor bolted to the front of an 8E engine , albeit with a reverse gear slotted into the 4 speed box . the rear shocks had been done away with in favour of - TWO GREAT BIG SPRINGS  :D

what else clever did these things have ? by the way respect to those having the need for these cars in the day - good sports some of them too !
