Villiers exhaust pipe.
« on: August 22, 2012, 11:34:44 PM »
I'm still in need of a down pipe to fit a 9E, maybe from a Bond minicar/scootacar or a villiers powered motorcycle like a Francis Barnet, 1 3/4" diameter. Can anyone help please?

What d you mean by downpipe? I have a front piece that goes onto the cylinder. I think I will use it on the mower though, but I may see if there is another way for me to make an exhaust, if so I'll let you know. I can lend it if you want a sample to make new maybe?

Well, there are only two parts, the pipe and the silencer, its the pipe I'm in need of. There is small bore and large bore, the latter would be preferable but either would do. Someone must have one knocking around from a Bond, scootacar, villiers powered motorbike etc. any help much appreciated.

Hello Bob,
In the past the Bond Club had them for sale. I'm not a member now, but maybe they still stock them. The spares bloke is Mike Hele in Waterlooville.               Nick.

Thanks Nick. I used to be a member as well, but no more.  I have contacted a member to inquire for me but no news yet.

Does anyone have a contact email or number for Mike Hele?

Bob, All I remember for Mick Hele is he lives on the edge of a small village called Catherington, near Waterlooville, Hants. You might be able to find him with Directory Enquiries.                  Nick.

I have a pair of new 4T downpipes that are spare but do not know if one of them would fit. Could send measurements if you are interested.

I'm interested but I dont know if measurements would help, I'm thinking of the angle with which the pipe joints the barrel and if it would be the same on both engines. What diameter are they to start with?  Thanks, Bob

The pipe has an outside diameter of 1 1/2".
With the pipe in its working position, the vertical dimension from the centreline of the pipe to the centre of the port is approx 11"
Looking in plan view, the offset from centreline to centreline is approx 3/4"
Hope this helps.

Its the large bore type I am looking for which is 1 3/4" so I guess the 4T isnt the one for me. Thanks for going to the trouble of measuring it up though Malcolm.

the 2T pipes measure 1 1/2" and the angle and fit is no use at all on the 9E . see pic. 1 the invacar engine comes with just a stub pipe to fit some plumbing i imagine but it measures 1 5/8" which i think is what you are looking for - awaiting a reply bob .
