Theme Music
« on: September 17, 2012, 10:34:41 PM »
On my way back from the National I was listening to the radio and they played Reet Petite by Jackie Wilson. It occured to me that if it had been sung by AC/DC we could have it as the theme tune for the AC Petite Register.

It then occured to me did John Peel ever play Three wheeling by Bob Dylan on his radio show?

He must have played plenty of records recorded on Trojan records

Prinz was big in the 90's, did he sing any Microcar songs?

Did David Bowie ever sing "We are the Champions"?

There must be more Microcar theme songs out there.

The little known Ernst Heinkel and his Trojans. Did a cover of Zep's 'Stairway to Heaven' with the Grim Ripper on modified Trombone instead of Jimmy Page's lead guitar. 'Wobble with Dave' etc.

Trojan Records was so called as the original van used to transport the sounds round Jamaica was a Trojan van. A close link to bubblecars but not a hit.

Rick Parfit of Status Quo had a Messerschmitt. Our own Forbesie, he of Rezillos, still has Messerschmitts. But they did not sing about them.

One of the songs on my first solo CD has the words "Riding in my Bubble Car", and all 3 of my CDs have a picture of one somewhere on them. I cannot remember what music was playing when Emma Peel drove a 'schmitt in "The Avengers" or while another 'schmitt was on-screen in Terry Gilliam's "Brazil", or while the Heinkel was on screen in "I'm alright Jack", "Blue Murder at St Trinians", Double Bunk, or the Trojan in the Comic Strip's "Mr Jolly Lives Next Door".

Trojan in St Trinians has to be associated to the Harry Flash theme. Given some owners over the years perhaps still appropriate!
