Trojan part, what is it and where does it go?

Just one more day to my job, then I have a week to work on the Trojan.. but where does this go?

Is it in the front shock absorber housing tube ?

Looks like a rear axle bearing plate to defect the majority of the oil away from the oil seal. No real idea of scale. There is a similar item to deflect the grease on the front wheel bearing assembly. Modern bearings can be supplied with sealed sides so these need not be fitted but up to the assembler.
