Trojan loom where does it go?
« on: December 29, 2012, 02:02:54 PM »
Okay, almost done  ;) Why does everything take longer then I had hoped? Question, I've bought a new loom many years ago and I alway's thought the headlight loom for the rh side goes all the way round the tank and then back to front. New loom is far to short though. How does it get to the other side? Not underneath I hope!

Anyone?

Hi
It goes round the front tube - when taking it out I always attach a thin wire so that I can thread in the new loom.

Not sure if you get it , goggo of course correct it goes inside , up and over and out the other side of the main door loop- a stiff wire now needed to feed it round . Got the t shirt

Thanks for that, that will be a hell of a job then. To late to go in the barn now but I can't remember the front tube being accessible... Well, will know tomorrow!

how are you getting on thomast ? car looking good but may i make a comment ? in your pic. above do you have your switches correct ? Would a 1963 Trojan not have switches similar to the earlier Heinkel / Heinkel Ireland in this pic. we saw before ?

Could well be, I'm not going for a 100% original car. I would like that, but that's not my goal. I want my dad's first car back on the road in technical top condition and I'll work on the details as we go on. Furthermore, there's a lot for me to learn about Trienkels ;-) My dad use to keep his car going with bits form cars he scraped, also using a friends (who owned a Heinkel from 1953) parts stock... Think this Trojan is more or less a mix  ::)

Did you mean owned a Heinkel from 1953 or 63? Didnt think they existed in 53?

It's one of the first with not cable but bars for gearchange. Used to be the Dutch importers first displaycar for shows etc. Could well be 1954...

no , sorry thomast bob is correct. the first Heinkel Kabine was 1956 and the last 60ish ,60/61 were Irish Heinkels and 62 onwards Trojan . no 1956 or 1966 .

Okay, another day spent in the barn and progress is good! There in no way though the loom can go through the chassis to the other side of there car. There is just no hole in the bottom tube on eighter side!  ???

The only option I have it to extent the loom and go all way around the back. Is it just my Trojan that is like that?
