The Meadows Frisky

In RumCar News 115  Chris was unfortunately only able to include two photos with the FriskySport prototype article due to the demand for space.

For those of you with a leaning Frisky, I have now included this on the Frisky website with the extra photos .

The Car for Egypt article has also been updated.

Hi John

That trip to Petbow must have been like a visit to aladdin's cave. Do you know what happened to all the body shells?

Dear John

Many thanks for the link.

Sorry to be pedantic but:

I think you will find that Ron Smith is the passenger and the un-named lady is the driver.

Keep it coming

Hi Malcolm and Mark
Unfortunately the Aladdin's cave had had 90% of its stock removed and destroyed about 4 years before our visit leaving only body shells. (par for the course??)

What was left outside was held down tight by mother nature, (swamp and trees) only the shells in the hut were really moveable and we bought back as much as we could carry, which over the years have been given away to Frisky restorers.

Lawrence House reported that they were burning all remaining Petbow body shells when he visited the Sandwich site later in 1982.

In the early 1960's s some of the body shells had gone from Petbow to Frisky Spares and Services Queenborough, and in the late 1960,s Doug Smith (MD) and his son took the remaining ones down into Queenborough creek and had one hell of a fire!

We took several photos of "the swamp" and its contents which are now fascinating and I hope to be able to  do a "Visit" page for the website soon.

John

Chris, you are so right, but knowing the position of the gear lever she really is risking life and limb riding side saddle!
