2013 National MicroCar Rally
« on: January 20, 2013, 12:42:39 PM »
This years NMCR will be organised by Nick Haddon on behalf of the Heinkel Trojan Club Ltd.  The dates are 29th August - 1st September based at the Three Counties Show Ground, Great Malvern, WR13 6NW.  This first class venue was used back in 2010 (remember the Grand Frisky line up ?) and provided great facilities and a good flat site for camping.
More details available soon regarding costs, activities and entertainment so keep any eye on the website :

I can at least claim to have had minor help in suggesting a few places of varied interest in a loop to the south of the venue at clubnight. Might have aided the guys to be confident they had all that was needed to put on an event, even if the choose something different. If I knew I could be free of big projects I would be offering to help on that, but we will have to see. Indeed the route South offers a ribbon of interest right into Wales and a very interesting bridge. It is all down to the preferred mileage folks want to drive in a day.

As to the venue there is always the bonus of having used it once. They know what to expect. It should make things easier. I really hope Malvern can take advantage of an earlier date, we reach the year when the weekends have processed so far back that all moves forward, and that the sun shines all weekend. I have never been to Malvern when it has not rained. It would explain its copious supply of spring water! No clash with the also early Beaulieu Autojumble/Nettley Marsh, but the benefit for our chums abroad in that they can take a short break between the two and still cover two good events in a 10 day stay a matter of 120 miles apart. A micro petrol head holiday of some merit. Again, if I am more sorted out I will be able to offer some entertainment and help between the two events being half way. Especially if I can get the Paddock available for cheap camping. Be a bit like Otto's orchard outside the official Story Rally hours, except I cannot afford the free crates of beer! What a host he was/is. Have to work with Nick and Grant with this initiative.
