BOND BUG RALLY 2013
« on: May 13, 2013, 08:45:36 PM »
UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATECamping charges : per night :
2 man Tents : £5 per tent
Caravans / Motorhomes / larger tent : £7 per unit
Electric hook- ups (if wanted) £3 per night
Rally pack charge : £4.00 – per car

THURSDAY 13th JUNE 2013
Pat and Helen plan to be on site from Thursday dinnertime. If you want to make your break start earlier, or last longer, speak to Paula at the Museum to book extra nights camping.

FRIDAY 14th JUNE 2013
There will be a road-run to the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum – this is about 30 miles away. Pat and I have been and checked the route, and they are good roads for Bugs. Admission charge is £3 per person (£2.50 concessions and children under 16 free).

In the early evening, there will be an informal road run to a pub recommended by Paula and Mike –“good food at reasonable prices”. Or pop out for fish & chips or a takeaway if you prefer

SATURDAY 15TH JUNE 2013
The road run will be to an event called the “Wickenby Wings & Wheels”
“Informal Classic Car Gathering, Aircraft Fly-In and Airshow. (The Airshow element is of course dependent upon suitable weather conditions and serviceability).”
http://www.wickenbyairfield.com
This is FREE to those exhibiting their classic car.
(distance from museum : 27 miles)

If you really don’t fancy that, and would prefer something a bit different, nearby Horncastle is well known for it’s many antique shops (ideal for a browse, although it is a bit difficult to get a chest of drawers home in a Bug), or Woodhall Spa is another nearby town with lots to see and do.

When we are back at the site, Paula can offer us a reasonably priced barbecue (if enough of us are interested – we will need to let her know beforehand), and we can socialise in the marquee.Sunday

SUNDAY 16TH JUNE 2013
This is the day for lining up the cars for the traditional judging by you the members.
Prizes for the cars, and for the raffle will be handed out at 2pm, after which you can pack up and leave when you are ready.

With overnighting at a reasonable price, but camping micronauts still seem to subsidize the lager of campervans who do not drive their cars to the event. Try £3 and £7 or £5 and £10 and charge a trailer cover fee with friends driving from abroad coming in free. And of course for those who do not bother to bring their car, they save on the £4 as well, while sitting there waiting to be entertained by the enthusiast who has paid more to be there. Then again maybe the Bugs do not have this problem.

Sorry all. Yes it's at the bubble car museum - www.bubblecarmuseum.co.uk

This is the main bug club rally of 2013. I'm sure all bug owners will welcome any other microcars to the event. We are afterall a very friendly bunch

Indeed so. Rarely see miserable Bug owners.
