The Bromley Pageant of Motoring
« on: June 04, 2013, 10:07:14 AM »
Bromley is this Sunday 9th June. The weather is looking good. Why not come along and see us and our bubblecars on the Trojan stand.

You'd have thought Peels these days could afford to be chauffeur-driven around the place instead of having to drive the car themselves...   ;)

Before the Poptop Box there was the Peeltop Box. Handy for mother's in law.

I think this lttle chap was off on his holidays as its front wheel was poised on a ski.

MIke Sheperd first spotted the car and came back to base to tell Marcus and myself. We naturally wondered if it was a replica even though it was the prototype model. Marcus and I went over to take some photo's and bumped into Gary Hillman which answered our question! It is Malcolm's old car.

Ah Peel Engineering Ltd. Is this the latest version, then? Having had little success with a Hoover engine bolted to a chassis we have moved to taking the best parts of a Cadillac, or similar small sized American sports car, and bolted the engine-less Peel body to it, Result, very good performance and ride but a tad tricky to park and a little heavy on fuel consumption.

Did it have a genuine door handle?

;D.   Yes, as we know this model would fall over if you just looked at it!  A new four wheeled chassis with considerably wider track and wheel base will do the trick!
