Wow what a project. Very much doubt it but if I could ever help whilst jumbling please let me know by message. Good luck - I envy you the task ahead

Quite a project, but good luck with it. Once finished it would be great to see before and after pics. I am not an IC fan, but always glad to see a project completed!

Oh dear. That's made things a little harder. I hope you got a suitable discount for all the hard work in dismantalling the machine and loosing/breaking one of the important bits. In my experience they always do and expect a reward for it! So here endeth what I understand was an unused original condition machine. still make a cracking rebuild if the parts can be found.

Well thanks for the reply's guys, think I've had a stroke of luck on my side and found the "missing part"!!  ;D

I understand there is a divide between micro cars and IC's but as far as i can see its another piece of history preserved

As for a progress update now...........

Well from the initial picture things looked a lot worse than they turned out to be! I have stripped back all electronic parts had the chassis wings and a few other parts blasted back to bare metal, at the moment they are in various states of primer to top coat.

I am aiming to get a rolling chassis back together as soon as possible just to make light work of moving it around

As said before this does appear to have never been used inside axle casings etc are all as new with no ware what so ever.

Thanks for the support

Keith

Good news.
Yup there is a divide! Even though some ICs and Bubbles/Micros are blood brothers: those like Messershmitts, AC Petites and Velorexes, for example, more-or-less evolved from ICs, or had shared parts. Even though I am not a fan I still like to see that part of motoring history being preserved, so good luck!

here is the donor for the missing tiller and control unit, although time will tell whether this one may also end up getting restored

Nobody has ever argued that they do not deserve there place in motoring history or that they do not deserve to be preserved, just there categorisation and there being lumped in with Microcars. Personally , when I go on a Microcar forum such as this or buy a magazine about Microcars I dont want to see bath chairs and appliances. I want to be transported back to my youth and remember all the great times I had driving bubblecars and be galvanized in the current hobby. AND, before Rob Dobie starts being abusive and asserting that I am being unfeeling towards disable folk and should be grateful I am mobile, if he knew anything at all about me he would know that I actually have for many years done voluntary work for disabled people including driving a tail lift vehicle for the wheelchairs. The argument is irrelevant anyway. I was hoping that after Stuart took over the IC register and started a news letter a specialised forum would  follow, sadly for me and the others that find them a turn off that hasn't been the case, even Stuart appears to have lost interest, or is he unwell at present? I dont know.  Anyway, before anyone starts, just remember forums are for expressing ones opinions and feelings, I'm  just as entitled to express mine as you are. And to Kieth, I wish you the very best of luck with your project. Its great to do something you are interested in, each to his own.
