Red Isetta on TV advert.
« on: August 03, 2013, 10:21:22 PM »
Anyone else seen the Red Isetta pulling a large trailer on the TV advert for the (Daily) Mirror?  I didn't catch the Reg. number.  It's not yours is it Bob?

this one?  Someone sent me these pics from a family member who happened to be on the street when they were filming the ad.
I would ask Jim Hacking.

Dear Rob

Wrong registration and Bobs is left hand drive.

It probably has no reverse gear or it is a one way street. Hence the manual reversing.

Do we know which high street this was filmed in. It could be almost anywhere?

Nothing to do with me. Besides, I wouldn't want to be associated with the Daily Mirror.  :D

that is normal for TV commercials that film several takes of the same scene over and over again.
for something like this, it is easier to push it "back to one" to restart the scene rather than have the driver back up.
It is also possible that the car does not run and they simply give it a push to get it started and let it coast.  Someone posted a clip of the advert off TV and it does not appear to move much in each shot.
The grunt work of moving it around is performed by P.A.s (Production Assistants), that is what they are there for.

TWO people to push a bubble car on a level road?!
Insurance and legal matters often determine exactly what is allowed to be done on location.
Have seen the ad several times now.
Just remember: as one door closes behind you, another slams in your face
