a new barnfind. 1955 Export standart with 15000km on the clock.

Nothing is damaged. No missing parts, only  minor surface rust. I'll keep the look. Only doing some minor maintenance

Maybe not Wilksie but it still looks like one of the rare left hand drives - lovely would love to hear  the story !

well you're right mates. It is not a german registration plate, and although it is not a Lhd. it was always driven on the left side.
Guess where it was then ! :-)

I think it is from an area of Sweden, the plate lettering starting with S or SA from Värmlands län. In the 1960s Sweden changed from driving on the left to the right as most of the European countries do now.

If I'd had to guess, I'd have said it looked like an old Swedish reg. I've seen many classics taken from Sweden to Germany. How come they are often well maintained, like this Schmitt? It can't be the weather??

well for sure it is not the weather i reckon, but swedish roads had never been gritted. This Messerschmitt was well stored in a firewood barn for 43 Years. This didn't makes more than 15.000 km on the clock

Of course Nick, i 'll keep it as it is. All i do is a small surface cleaning and bringing it back to run.
