Mercury Hermes Scooter
« on: December 28, 2013, 03:40:40 PM »
I just thought I would show the scooterist that use the forum my latest acquisition. Its a Mercury Hermes scooter, 50cc and made approximately 1958. The JLO engine is like the ones used in the Mopetta having a pull starter cord. Curious styling, would you agree? Mines the unrestored one.

I have not heard of these and the styling is certainly bold, and I really like it. The two-tone paint sets off the shape beautifully, perhaps Dan Dare kept a spare one in the boot of his rocket ship in case of break downs! Is this a restoration project for you Bob? If so I look forward to seeing a top class job!

It may be Marcus, I havnt decided yet as Bobette is taking up my spare time for now. It may just join my stable of shabby chic old mopeds.
