no, the points and the coil stopped working because they are so old, so it refused to run on the isle of man. So i have decided to replace the engine with a more reliable one.

no, it just that i have been told that a internal coil would make the engine much more reliable. i will get the original engine running first tow.

Strange. In the world of moped engines its usually the other way around. The most reliable set up is an external battery/coil system. Still, I no nothing of DKW units.
