44 out of just over 300 made. This is a good survival rate.

That is remarkable , is that survival rate peculiar to Inters or France in general ?

No there is only one France, but it is surviving reasonably well.

Interesting as much of France is rural and a man has his sheds. Therefore stuff gets stashed. Yet to really be a top survivor folk should really like the machine and not want to chuck it away, or sell it. Does the Inter fall in this category?

283?      How do you explain chassis number 308 on your register?

Like many manufacturers they probably started at 101 rather than 1.

Close Chris, there is a thousand in front of all the numbers I mentioned.  Mine however just has 15 stamped on the body so is either pre-production or before they started adding the thousand.
My question to Jean-Do has to do with the Inter on the register with number 1308 indicating that the number produced went over 300.

Bob, prod number  are 283 .... but officiel documents  from " service des mines" that alloys legal production start with all technical infos about one model, starts at number "1036 ( prototype) "......
you own the 1015 ...GD in France owns the 1019-1022(inter alu plate is different from chassis )  , so it would give 319 inter builts with JLP 1308 as the biggest number chassis registred ..
a guy from Villeurbanne factory, told me that after the end of that inter story, a man in Lyon had bought all parts,  chassis from the SNCAN factory, and tried to sold some INters rebuilt with them ... is 1308 made with , and in fact " extra prod" numbers ?? actually, i don't know ..

Hi Jean-do. Thanks for that.  So I think I will continue to say about 300 were made to be on the safe side.
What I would like to know is if any other early cars just have the number stamped on the body without the 10 in front of the number. Mine just has 15 stamped on body and engine cover. It never had an aluminium plate.

Does the aluminium plate have the 1000 on it?

Mine does not have any hood louvers at all.
I think we have to face it, they are all different!

hi bob , looking at all details about your inter, it may not be the 15 th of the serie....
look at that listing where you'll find details and actually serial numbers of the end  or the begining of those details ..
exemple Bitube engine are  actually still on 1214  , but not on 1218 ....where you find monotube ydral engine ...
so look at this and may be another number has not appeared when you'll restored it ... at the right you find numbers with " 15" avialable , excepted the ...15... still registred as the 1157 ...
the full hood chassis louvers, where on your /weiner first but not this one .. embossed licence plate ....side grilles ...narrow axel ....sound foam firewall ....
as i know you've got it uncomplete ...
