The Avengers
« on: April 30, 2015, 07:51:24 AM »
True TV (Freeview 61) Weekdays 8pm.

A friend who is a huge fan reckons that the episode featuring Emma Peel in a KR 201 is likely to be shown within the next few days.

I have seen a clip on You Tube, but have never seen it in the context of the whole show! Perhaps tonight, Friday or early next week. Keep your eyes, er, Peeled!

Mr Poll has both car types featured in the clip. Not sure if he has a bowler, though.

In last night's show about a golf course being used to communicate with commies, Steed was not driving his usual Bentley or RR, but a 1930s Vauxhall.

They used to have fun with the series. Now its what the biggest explosion or most impossible trick is. One is simple, sophisticated entertainment rhat assumes a level of inrelligence, the other mostly brainless sensationalism. Boooring.

I pretty much agree Al, The Avengers had real style and humour, was all nicely tongue-in-cheek, and action was the dramatic highlight rather than the entire plot.

According to my friend it IS listed for tonight (Friday) at 8pm. However be warned that they do not always show the episode mentioned in the listings, or in strict number order! 5 mins to go!
